Cricket bat grips, scuff sheets etc.
« on: October 04, 2017, 10:39:52 AM »

I've seen a few brands & companies offering in their sales patter " High Quality UK made grips " but struggled to find a UK based company who make & sell cricket bat grips?

Just wondered if anyone can shed any light on this as I just assumed (maybe incorrectly) that most grips would be made in Asia?

Also the same with scuff sheets, are these mainly made in Asia or are there any UK companies producing scuff sheets?

GM, Kookaburra grips etc that I bought in the past and class as a better quality than most, are these UK or Asian made?

A bit more specialist now, but if anyone knows any specifications of quality scuff sheets on the market such as face material, backing, adhesive etc I would be very interested to know?  Might be able to easily get hold of some UK made material but without some specifications I am unsure if it is suitable/fit for purpose??

Thanks,

Andy.

Paradis Novo make grips in Manchester, if they're still going these days!

For Scuff Sheets there are UK producers, Adcal for example do the hammer edge style.

Cheers Tom.

I work for a manufacturer of adhesive label stock which then goes to printers for food, drink, pharmaceutical, amazon labels etc etc.  We do paper & plastic and different adhesives depending on end use but would be interesting to see the specifications used by such as adcal on their scuff? It'd be just clear scuff though, not hammer edge?

Wonder what process they use to produce the hammer edge??

Might be a bit of a detour but when people talk about "helicopter" scuff sheets it should be this stuff:

https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Polyurethane-Protective-Tape-8671?N=5002385+3292668437&rt=rud

No idea where 3M manufacture it though
