*Proper* Southern nets in cider country
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:26:28 PM »

Hi all,

There's quite a few of us in the South West who seem to be keen for a get together so lets make this happen  :)

When?
I'd be up for any Saturday or Sunday in November or December

Where?
- Warminster is good value but they need a kick up the backside. The bowling machine was out of action last time and there were only 9 balls. I bought 20 Bola balls on ebay as a backup and can chase them up with regards to opening up promptly if it works well for others too
- Brizzle seems like a hot spot for forumites so maybe the locals can suggest the best options there
- Salisbury has a great indoor facility but I suspect it is the wrong direction for most
- Taunton would be the other option

What?
A couple of hours with at least one lane with a bowling machine and one lane for bowling should be about right I reckon with the numbers we are likely to have.

Count me in. Preferably Sundays. I am available whenever and wherever, I will clear any prior commitments.

Sounds good bud! Would also prefer a Sunday and preferably Bristol, Bath or Warminster for location but I'm easy (Just not Dec 10th!)

If not Taunton/Bridgwater/Weston, then Bristol/bath would be best for me.

I'm dead keen subject to availability, should be moving house around this time though so can't commit to any dates at the moment unfortunately. If in Bristol shouldn't be a problem though! Sundays would be better.

Best Bristol option would probably be Merchant's Academy which is about the only place I know you can definitely hire a bowling machine. Reasonable facility and decent prices, other locals may be able to suggest different options though.

that sounds good to me. You get my vote for 'net planner'. Let me know when and how much and I'll PayPal the cash. Cheers ed.

I'll drive if it's Bristol/Bath mate - probably better facilities in Bristol anyway

Bristol seems popular as do Sundays.

Shall we try for Sunday 12th or 19th at Merchants Academy?

How do we get in contact with them to check availability?

I'll drop them an email about both dates mate - add a poll on here and we'll go with the majority?

If you are looking for an establishment to have a quiet drink in afterwards can I recommend a place called Mbargo. They do a cracking range of Jger Bombs

Sunday 19th prob better for me and merchants academy is only 10 mins away so the heavily pregnant wife might be ok with me dissapearing for a couple of hours.
