Cricket fitness with Tenax Performance
« on: October 31, 2017, 08:35:57 PM »

Hi fellas.

Just thought I'd offer a quick review and recomendation....

In preparation for getting back into cricket after a ten year abscence, I was on the look out for a specific cricket training programme to help me get as fit as possible in the off season (might as well now I've bought full new kit, so no going back now! :D). I have stayed fit through circuit training and running regularly but was getting bored and wanted something cricket specific. After some research online I found Tenax Performance, run by a guy called Connor (who is lead fitness coach for Sussex CC apparently). Anyway long story short I've started a training plan which so far has been excellent and seems like it could really help. It's tailored to me personally and cricket specifically. So just thought I'd mention it as I think a lot of people could benefit from it maybe?

It's app based, so all accessed on my phone and after running through questions around my exercise history/injury history, goals etc he set me a bespoke programme to follow based around mobility, strength and conditioning. Each workout is set out clearly on each day with instructions and videos for each exercise. Simple! He's also looking at diet etc for me too. Compared to a PT at the gym I think it's much better value cost wise and just as easy to follow. All progress is tracked through the app too, so you can see the results and how you're progressing.  So far so good, let's hope it helps when I get back out in the middle!

If anyone needs any further info let me know and I'll put you in touch.

I thought this thread was going to be about some quirky new routine that somehow incorporated female hygiene products...

The cost for the one to one training is 55 per month. It's been great so far for me, given me clear direction to follow as I was getting bored with my current regime but didn't have any idea how to structure a plan and stick to it.

I got a free generic cricket specific plan from them- he's the strength and conditioning coach at Surrey CCC

The lead S+C at Sussex who runs Tenax Performance is offering out a free program which is phone app based for a limited time. Send your full name in an email to info@tenaxperformance.com if you would like to try it!

I'd seen he offered a free plan but after having a chat I thought I'd go for the bespoke option, as I'm quite into my fitness and thinking it'll be a decent experiment to do some specific cricket targeted training and see what difference it makes. Also got a few old injuries I'm trying to ensure don't affect me moving forward too. Would recommend a look either way.
