Thanks - I've ordered a normal one so will see how it goes.  I did have had a quick Google but couldn't seem to find any junior grips....GN included.

@Vitas Cricket - order is in.
Ah hadn't thought about the width - hope they are ok.

Not too fussed on the colour but was wondering if it was something I had done when sanding.

If the width is a problem you could try edge tape taping both edges will cover a large area of the face of a size four  bat.

OK - although the refurb is coming on nicely.....after removing the stickers the lad is now asking what we are going to do about new stickers.

Has anyone either used a non cricket bat sticker on a bat.  Wondering if I can use (and this is a random example plucked out of the air) something like these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200-x-random-vinyl-decal-graffiti-sticker-bomb-laptop-waterproof-stickers-skate-/122346183837?epid=503155257&hash=item1c7c669c9d:g:ELwAAOSwUKxYmvAL

Obviously they'd need to stick to wood

The stickers should stick fine, your issue will be the ink smudging upon contact with a ball - unless they're laminated stickers it's unlikely they'll last long.

Saying that if its a young lad I can't imagine the forces involved will be anything like adult cricket, may well do the job actually (can't say I've ever tested non-laminated stickers on kids cricket!).

Yeah bit of an odd one but I am thinking he could choose and we'd just put them on the back.

Another idea would be to buy an extra length of clear scuff sheet and simply put a layer over any stickers you put on the front. Once cut to length the scuff should hold them in place and prevent any smudging too.
