yep lovely setting Broughton Gifford sadly the pitch isn't a good one (well last time I played there it wasn't) and not too far from me ( I live in Melksham) sadly as I play Saturday I wont be able to play this week - if it was next Sunday however there may have been a chance lol

@velvetsky01 do you know anyone or have contacts at Broughton Gifford? The game was rearranged for this coming Sunday but I've been struggling to get hold of Duncan, the guy I've been contacting to arrange everything...

Ah, the joys of organising a cricket team.

13 free and willing players yesterday down to 9 today.

I don't suppose there are any last minute ringers lurking here? :)

Thank you to everyone who helped with finding us our first few fixtures this season.

We were fairly solidly beaten by Broughton Gifford after trouble getting numbers in the team and one of their lads hitting sixes at will but they were great hosts and had fantastic teas in the village pub!

Thank you too @frooper11 for hosting us at very short notice yesterday at Long Ashton CC. The weather might have not always been on our sides but it was a great way to finish the season (especially for your final bowler getting a wicket with the last ball :) ).

Despite losing, enthusiasm for cricket in the team was high after the game and the boys were already talking about winter nets which is must have meant they enjoyed this first foray in to social cricket!

Thanks again, and we'll try to be more organised next season!

Not a problem Daniel, was great to have you come and play us. Proved to be a good game despite the massive deluge halfway through and the constant mizzle thereafter.

See you all next summer!
