B&S Sponsored Charity Whats in Your Kitbag competition - win a free L.E. bat!!!

Dear all, we are today delighted to launch the CBF charity 'what's in your kitbag competition'

As ever it is a very simple thing - you make a donation (minimum of 5 pounds please - no upper limit ;) ) to the Tom Maynard Trust via this just giving page

You then record a video of what's in your kitbag (less than 6 mins please!) and post it in the competition thread in the pavilion [link;topicseen#msg480248]

The entries will then be shortlisted by those good people at Bellingham and Smith as well as myself (my entry is so bad I won't be winning!) and then the winners will be chosen by forum vote.

Oh - I better not forget to say there are prizes  :o :D

Bellingham and Smith have kindly offered to donate an L.E. bat for the winning entry, the second prize will receive a pair of Blank Bats Gloves and other runners up will receive some CBF branded merchandise.

Guests - please register if you want to participate!

The competition will be open for 3 weeks starting now, with the closing date of 10th June. We will then open the voting for the following week with the winner being announced on 16th June.

Below is a bit more detail about the Tom Maynard Trust - This charity was chosen due to the Aswani Cricket's association with Glamorgan County Cricket club and to support emerging cricketers - please given generously - there is no need to enter a video if you just want to donate!
The Tom Maynard Trust was set up in the summer of 2013 following Tom's tragic death.  Its initial objects were to try to provide low level financial support for young cricketers making their way in the game.  Over the period in which the Trust has been operating, though, this has expanded and our work is now focused on four key areas:
-   Grants
We support applications from young aspiring sports people looking for support with different aspects of their career development, including bursaries, help with training and some aspects of their education, financial support for overseas placements and assistance with kit and equipment.
-   Education and Awareness
We work with other agencies, including the Professional Cricketers' Association in England and Wales and the Rugby Players' Association in England, to provide support for raising awareness of some of the pitfalls of a career in sport, helping with education and induction programmes for sportspeople making their way in sport.
-   Tom Maynard Academy
We have set up an Academy in Tom's name at the Desert Springs complex in Southern Spain, where up to 14 emerging county cricket professionals will benefit from specialist technical and conditioning work, overseen by Tom's father Matthew, and supported by high profile names in the world of cricket.  The first intake will spend ten days in Spain in February 2014.

A picture of the actual ;) bat with the weight will be posted soon
GOOD LUCK its for a great cause
