Title: Surridge Curve cricket bat
Post by: SOULMAN1012 on March 14, 2019, 06:29:16 PM
Evening all. So thought i would share this new bat that i was able to source through @king pair and would like top thank him his help.
After seeing Surridge mentioned and King pair working for them I spoke with him as i has always really liked the look of the kit mainly the softs tbh and didnít know much about the bats. I told him what i like which is light weight, duck bill toe with a full shape and oval handle. I also donít these days spend much more than £200 max on my bats as i have found performance is in no way associated to cost.

So this is what i picked, not the prettiest bat and is true to its G3 grade, however having a forum member on the inside enabled me to ensure performance was decent. And sure enough she is an ugly pinger.
What I wasnít expecting was the sheer size for the weight. This is 2.76 fully dressed, 38mm edges and totally full shape.
Initially. I am impressed as the pick up & balance are great. I will add to this review once used at nets but here are a few pics

I like the profile! I'm with you on the cost=performance malarky, just bought a G&M Autograph, G3 for £70 and it's a right ugly Pinger but I love it, absolute monster of a bat.

Extremely competitive by todayís standards.

Equipment isnít the main side of our business, teamwear is. Although now Iím with surridge Iím hoping to put some time into the equipment side and grow it again.

Bats are indian made by a very reputable factory. As also mentioned Iím on hand to pick you something to your needs

Looks like a lovely bat, i really like the simple branding too.  What are the handles like? is it fair to say that sometimes the indian made bats can have rather thin handles or am i out of line with that?

Maybe i'll treat myself to some new kit for the summer :)

Handles to me seem completely standard but Chris @SOULMAN1012  your opinion carries more weight here.

@play-yourself-in I can definitely help you with some new gear for the season. Iíll very shortly have images of the new pads and gloves and the stickers are being finalised as we speak

Handle is a nice semi oval handle, smaller than a GM handle but thicker than my GN ones. Overall again for the money certainly canít complain about the handle shape or size.

In addition to previous initial comments the bat is very well finished with a silky like finish.

I have 6 Indian made bats so far and handle on all of them are thin. Upon requesting thick handle got told they don't have thick handles. So had to alter them my self.
I am not sure if thin handles are only way in India or some manufacturers could provide thick ones. Wasn't the case with my orders though.

Love that profile,,,,and if thatís made by the company thereís a few un subtle hints about, then Iím sure itís an absolute cracking bat.
I love a bit of character in a bat, so knots etc I donít mind,,,but I look forward to seeing some grade ones, if thatís a grade three
Pricing looks very fair too
