Brands have already developed under trouser dual use fielding/keeping pads.

Slazenger have them on sale in their 2013 range (although not included in your photo), as did Newbery last year.

Yes indeed, sadly, we missed out on the Newbery Tour pads this year, but Newbery did really well with them, selling out by July, so there must be a trend towards this type of keeping pad right now.  Will be interesting to see if it continues...

Do you know people who've enjoyed wearing them? Still trying to gauge the prevailing view from amateur wicketkeepers on whether under-the-trouser pads are actually preferable...

Problem with the newbery tour wk/fielding pads is that the bottom of them is round and they dig into your ankles where they sit - feels very uncomfortable.

Not having stocked or worn them yet, I don't, unfortunately - sorry!

iv worn them under my trousers before and do quite prefer it like that, keeps the pads in place and secure if you need to slide.
only downside is the pads get alot sweatier, which can be a problem prolonging the life of the pads

I dont keep but cant see benefit of scrapping the pads, agree with article that stops via pads save a norm club keeper fair few runs over a season
