Any of you ever practised with one of these? Or made one for yourself!? Worth it?

ive made a couple of these to various weights and have used one myself. can be a useful tool if the weights right. not as useful if the weights low.

I've one of these at 2lb 11oz. It's a great training tool, and I'd really like to use it in the middle as the ball flies off it, I'm just a bit scared to...

55mm edges...

ive made a couple around 2lb 11 and a couple lighter. could probably go heavier with the right cleft.

Why does it need to be a certain weight? Surely it is predominantly for hand eye improvement...obviously ideally it is the same weight but hardly matters if not?

Something like your current bat weight, so it feels the same when you are in the middle batting.
A lot of them are very light, about 2lb weight!

I made mine at 2.9oz, identical to the weight of my match bat. Just depends on the start weigh of the cleft though.

I requested mine at my bat weight precisely so it wouldn't feel different. I used a mate's 2lb 2oz one and it was awful. :(

i would say its really important to have it as close to your bat weight and potentially pick up if possible. you want it to feel no different to playing normally. net and train as close as you can to what you will bat like in a match. best way to do it
