No not had chance yet. I might see what it's like with 1 1/2 pipe. Might not be big enough for 2 grips but I've never used more than 1 grip

Crude and simple and works a treat, cost $3.80, under 2 pound. Thanks Steffan,

You're very welcome. I am working on a YouTube tutorial atm, but since this is my first of the kind, it takes time!

Bunnings would always be cheaper than what I would be able to find in Denmark unfortunately, loved bunnings when I toured down under!

I like that idea. Only issue is if the entire front page of a section ends up being stickies. That said the topics would all be worth reading. We'll have a think about that.

Sorry to resurrect this but was hoping for some additional advice. I have built a similar "gadget"  for the club in metal and have it working off the vacuum cleaner thanks to Steffan. However, I really want it to be more self contained so am looking for a suitable vacuum pump but have no idea how powerful it would need to be. I have seen various different ones on the Bay of E and need to know if 2.5-3 CFM would be powerful enough. Would something like this work:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5CFM-1-4HP-220V-Single-Stage-Rotary-Vane-Deep-Vacuum-Pump-DE-fast-shipping-/161892851347?hash=item25b190de93:g:SSMAAOSwZVhWTtD3

Any ideas?

Cheers

Create a seperate section for such threads, so they don't vanish.

Thought about this. But with my vacuum on low, it still doesn't suck enough. Especially for the tricky grips.

That's what worries me. Do you get much air leakage from the joints and connections? I have welded mine up and the only part where it can leak air would be where the rubber grip goes over the metal tube so was hoping a pump like this would work,  but don't want to waste the money if its a non starter. The commercial versions of these that I have seen don't seem to have a massive pump so hopefully someone else would have built one  and will be able to advise on the power required.
