30 Gloves
« on: February 28, 2018, 04:05:06 PM »

So,

You've got 30 to spend on gloves, which should be more than enough to get a decent pair.

What do you get?

At that price you'd have to decide between protecting your top or bottom hand :-[

Spend an extra tenner and you can get some decent Batas Gloves that provide protection and have pittards.

Or go sports direct and stick a pair under your hoodie 🙈

Recently Got a pair of new puma platinum 5000 for 23 posted - sometimes it's a bonus having youth sized hands.
Also got some SG LItevate for 12 and new old stock GM 606 for 12.
All give more than adequate protection. You need to consider how often you get hit on the gloves (very rarely for me as we don't usually play on bouncy tracks) and how fast is the bowling you face (not much over mid 70's for me).
I find the top end gloves can be a bit bulky which is why (apart from my new puma's) I've gone for lower end gloves.
Bit of a kit tramp too so not against buying second hand. You often get spoilt brats trading in last seasons gloves for something new, or kids who have outgrown them. Either way secondhand softs have minimal value so you can pick them up for peanuts.

Pryzm gloves at 29.99 with Pittards palms look pretty good at the moment although think postage might be a tad high

Fair point - it's something that we're looking to work on. We can send gloves for about 2.99 but this isn't a tracked service. We use parcelforce via a different company for items too big for the letter box, as this is a completely tracked and signed for delivery which costs us 7 +VAT, +bag/box cost, +handling. So the postage cost is actually cheaper than what we currently pay and the reason why we continue to use this service is that throughout our time we haven't had one package get damaged or lost in transportation (touch wood).

Good find. Would you know if there's any difference between the newer T2's and the older ones (apart from colour and price)?

the Older T2's are the same as the older Alpha pads, even with the brown trim.  not seen them up against the newer pads
