It's hideous. Also, anything with fake carbon fibre print on it = tat. Double tat points for falsely claiming it passes the safety regs - what bigger sign to avoid something could you ask for.

It is hideous and unapproved so I would avoid.

The only thing I like about this are the ventilation holes, it looks like it could be cooler during a long knock than my Masuri. But the design and the shiny paint are horrible, so I'm never going to buy one of these.

A guy at my club has one - don't think it's ever been put to the test in terms of protection, but he certainly cops a lot of stick for it from the opposition (and teammates tbh)

Nope I hate them too 😣

@Ayrtek Cricket you should love the Moonwalkrs! The only negative I see about yours are people thinking they look unusual or look funny- you can point to a Moonwakr helmet and say "no- thaaat is what a funky helmet looks like!" Everything is relative in life :D

@Ayrtek Cricket has anyone though about making the helmet using light weight foam similar to bicycle helmets.  Most likely not safe but just wondering.

Yes its possible but when mounting a grille to it becomes tricky to maintain structural rigidity when looking at the penetration testing aspect

Thx, I did not think about the grille and structural rigidity.

It will be interesting to see if Moonwalker passes the new impact standards. Although it looks funky, it is quite lite in weight and by far has the highest amount of ventilation as well, but again with that-much form, mounting of grill must have been quite difficult. It is being used by many Indian first class cricketers (the other day I saw junior Tendulkar batting with it). It is also getting used in IPL by some pros. If found safe, this can be perfect for hot Indian conditions (minus the hideous looks). I absolutely agree with the awful looks comments.

PS: By the way they also make fairly good quality thigh guards used by many pros and the worst looking pads that no-one uses it seems.
