good luck - Pete has about 100 bats at an average price of probably more than £200, which means that before tax you will need to have earned most of £30,000 - just to spend money on bats, that doesn't include a living allowance, or even cash to spend on the rest of your kit.

dammit I didn't mean to be a grumpy killjoy !!!!

Peter - this looks like another lovely piece of willow. The Genus shaped PH SAF special is a winner in my book. After viewing these bats, I think I have now gone past the aperitif, the entrée and the little shot of sorbet to cleanse my pallet prior to the arrival of he fish dish, to be washed down with a nice Australian Sauvignon blanc... In other words these are good (ok more than just good) - but it is time to see some bats that really will wake me from my sleep deprived early morning grumpiness!!
Actually what i really want to see is a vintage Gunn and Moore Maestro - but that may be a dream to far!!
What have you got in the "big brand" bats - before we go to the boutique brand bats...

Pete probably has a collection of well over 3000 rugs.......perhaps a nice little persian number with some blue mood lighting will set the scene perfectly :D

Longy - wouldn't advise it until your salary is very large, as you can't eat or live in the bats.  ;) Start small and grow the collection a bit at a time!

You're right Buzz! the outlay is huge, and that's before you need to look at storage space! Will look to see what I have in the way of more major brands, but I did trade and sell quite a number but I will dig some out! And I'm glad that you liked the bat I made, although I obviously had the help of Andy! It does feel special

And I know the bats are lacking a certain class without my old fur rug.....it was a thing of beauty! However, one of the dogs decided to chew it up a little and it was eventually laid to rest!  :(
I will see about a substitute - it may not be quite the same but I will see if I can improve on a wooden table at least!!

Dave - the Lekka surprised me too!
Last year I was hearing bad things about Lekka, but that was mainly about the service or the attitude of James rather than the quality of bats themselves!
But this Lekka, plus the T20 bats have really changed my opinion of Lekka. And when you look at the quality you get for the £££, then I reckon it's hard to beat for value for money!! It feels similar in quality to a decent Newbery bat, but a less dosh.
You can normally tell within an hour or so of starting to knock the bat in, how well it's likely to respond and ping. And this is feeling extremely nice and responsive!  :D So I reckon this should be a real pinger!  8)
Another one you may consider trying eventually Dave?

I will second that the Lekka bats are great value for money, and do actually play rather well. One of our lads plays with a Lekka and loves it. And i have to say James and his Lekka brand have been very supportive of disability cricket by supplying kit and bats free of charge for disability players.

BAT 6 - Choice Willow Lionheart

Ok - time for some more!
This is a lighter bat - love the stickers on this one!
It's 2'8 and Grade 1 willow. Around 10 grains and feels a nice pick-up.....but at this weight they all feel like a very light pick-up to me!!
Anyway, here are the pics....
